The Sewing Camps are a series of 3-hour sessions. Our goal is to get new students up to speed fast on the sewing machine and keep current students moving forward on more challenging projects designed to improve skills and increase techniques. The classes are self-paced, so students are encouraged to be creative and work at their own pace.
New students learn sewing machine operation/safety and work on three easy starter projects. These are designed to teach safety and proficiency on the sewing machine: a belt, a small drawstring bag and a larger bag. Generally, these can be completed in a 3-day Camp. Students are then ready to forge ahead on their sewing skills, with lots of freedom to choose their future projects, based on age and skill level. Our only requirement for new students is that they attend at least one 2-Day Camp so that they can enjoy more satisfaction from their intensive 1st day's efforts.

Spring Break Sewing Camps 2019 Schedule
March 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 Spring Sewing Camp Sessions are the perfect way for kids to spend their free time during Spring Break for some good focus time on sewing skills!
Schedule: Spring Camp sessions will be held from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm on each of the scheduled dates.
These camps are open enrollment. You may sign up for any combination of dates and times throughout the week.
Cost: $57 per 3-hour camp session -- same as the Summer Camps!
Three schedule options for Summer Sewing Camps: 2-Day, 3-Day or 5-Day Camps
2-Day Camp:In the 2-Day Sewing Camp (Tuesdays and Thursdays), new students learn sewing machine operation/safety, with time allowed to complete two of the three easy starter projects – a belt and a small drawstring bag. This is perfect for new students trying out sewing for the first time to see if they enjoy it enough to do more later on.
3-Day Camp: In the 3-Day Sewing Camp, new students learn sewing machine operation/safety, and complete all three of the easy starter projects – the D-ring Belt and a small drawstring bag and a larger bag. Then, in any future sewing camps/classes, they may choose their next sewing projects according to their age and skill level. This camp series is designed to give new students a full orientation on sewing machine skills and basic sewing construction; they would then be ready to continue developing new skills and techniques in future sewing classes or under the supervision of an experienced adult sewer . . . And they will then be ready to enjoy the creative freedom to choose their sewing projects.
5-day Camp: The 5-Day Sewing Camp series gives new students a full orientation on sewing machine skills and basic construction techniques. After completing the starter projects, they will have about two camp sessions for choosing another project. Students attending the 5-Day Camps get to experience more of the satisfaction that comes with achievement. They will have moved a little further beyond just the basic discipline for handling a sewing machine to greater appreciation for the sewing process and the creative range of the sewing arts!
Note: Our only scheduling restrictions are that new students attend at least one 2-Day Camp and begin their first class early in the week, on a Monday or Tuesday.
Please be sure to read our class policies before committing to a class time.
